Babysitting Classes
Is your tween or teen hoping to start a career in babysitting? Or could he or she benefit from some training in order to care for siblings or other younger family members? Consider B.L.A.S.T. (Babysitter Lessons and Safety Training) designed by the Academy of Pediatrics.
Our AHA Certified Instructors also offer training for potential babysitters. This 4-hour training program is for potential babysitters age 11-15. BLAST (Babysitter Lessons and Safety Training) provides training in the fundamentals of childcare, including household safety, preventing accidents, and pediatric first aid/CPR. Babysitter basics are also covered, such as interviewing for babysitting jobs, feeding/burping babies, spoon-feeding, preparing for bed, selecting safe and suitable games/activities, and behavior issues. This fun, interactive class, that includes baby manikins to diaper, will prepare participants to begin babysitting safely and competently. Participants earn Certificate of Completion and take home a first aid kit.
